The Shearwater Interactive Case Study explores some of the strategic and operational issues that surround the Shearwater offshore project. It provides an insight in to the wide range of problems and possible solutions that confront a Shell manager when working in an environmentally sensitive environment with correspondingly difficult business decisions to consider.

The participant is asked to take on the role of a manager who has overall responsibility for this project. He has to understand the strategic environment and the practical decisions in managing a complex exploration project of this nature. When all of these issues have been examined, the participant will have to determine whether Shell has a viable business in the Shearwater region. We will then discuss your results together.
